Hi Pankaj,

Exactly we can't specify but generally we use Present perfect tense becoz before logging an issue as bug, tester should be confident about it, but it can vary depending on type of bug, for eg.

Summary of a bug:

"User is not able to login"

we can't write:

User was not able to login OR User will not able to login.

Only try to give correct info what u have faced while testing.

Sometimes we define a bug (if we get application error instead of message box on button click) as:

"Instead of proper message box, getting application error, on 'OK' button click."

"I got an Application error, instead of proper mesage box, when i clicked on 'OK' button."

from my view the first one is the correct one !!

Bug report has nothing to do with tenses ... It has a format and we fill the details of bugs and report it ...  either Manually using excel sheet or using bug reporting tools ..
