Selenium - Understanding XPATH

Understanding Xpath:
What is Xpath: Xpath is a Unique path 
purpose: identifies the GUI Objects within a web application.

Addon called Firebug allows tester to identify the gui objects. This firebug is restricted to Mozilla only.Firebug opens the HTML code of every gui element within the web application, but will not give the Xpath of the gui component. In order to get the Xpath of a gui component install another addon called Firepath for mozilla.

Now once the eclipse has been installed you create a Workspace folder this folder saves all the scripts and Java files that you write inside eclipse. Java in selenium is used to perform the actions on the application and for generating the reports, logging events and reading data from excel selenium uses Junit.
