Quality is delighting customers
While proceeding with automation of my web application am getting stucked while saving a file in win 7 + IE9 environment.
In my web-based application, I need to save a file. while using earlier versions of IE, I used to get popus to provide the custom name and location of the file where it has to be saved.
But I have that in IE9, am getting a popup at the bottom of the page containg the options ‘Open’, ’Save’ and ‘Cancel’ with the message ‘Do you want to open or save XXXXXXXX.xls from XXX.com?’.
In this situation, QTP 11 identified as a WinObject with a native class of DirectUIHWND. None of the content inside the popup is identified by QTP.
Can someone please provide me solution to come out of this issue, so that it is really helpful.
I am using QPT 11 on a Win 7 32/64 bit machines.
Hi Subbu, thnx for ur quick response.
In our application, i need to click on download button to save file. I don't see 'save target as' option when ri8 click the button. If I click the button I am getting popup at bottom of the page.
I understand it now.
On a fly, I have this option for you.
1. Open IE 9 and select Tools -> View Downloads (or Ctrl + J)
2. Select Options link from View Downloads dialog box.
3. Select Browse button and select desired location where you want to save your files.
4. once file saved then you can use Shell script to change default filename to desired filename.
I know this may not right solution for your problem. But for time being you can overcome.
