Hi
Traceability Matrix is prepared to map the designed test cases with the requirements.
Hi Traceability Matrix(TM) is used to cross check our work.
we have different TM.
Reqiurement TM->RTM
Defect TM->DTM
RTM:
To cross verify the Testcases are properly created for all Requirement.
DTM:
To Cross Verify the Defect raised from which Test cases and Comes under which Requirement.

To Create the TM we have 3 ways:
1->Forward TM
2->Backward TM
3->Bi-directional TM
FTM:
Trace From Requirement to Testcases. All the Requirement has covered by any one Testcase atleast.
BTM:
Trace from Testcases to requirement. All the Testcases are prepared to cover atleast one requirement.
BTM:
Combination of both.
