Can one please explain when to prepare test data in manual testing? while designing the test case or after completing test case design?

Hi,

can one please explain when to prepare test data in manual testing?  while designing the test case or after completing test case design? is test data a seprate doc or to be attached with test case?

for a single test case various valid , invalid conditions should be checked? so is it necessary to repeat the test case for various inputs?

See .... Test data is part of Test Case .. so they are prepared during Test Design itself...    or You may get it from the repository ... and need to insert it in your test cases ...

Test case is not repeated instead a single test cases can have multiple set of test data...

When to prepare test data?

After Test Plan is base lined, before test execution begins.

while designing the test case or after completing test case design?

During designing the test cases.

is test data a separate doc or to be attached with test case?

Test Data is not documented,  it's only incorporated into test design.

for a single test case various valid , invalid conditions should be checked? so is it necessary to repeat the test case for various inputs?

Yes, all possible conditions. Test cases are not repeated, instead test cases them-self are derived based on the conditions i.e. meaning every condition has a separate Test case.

Even you can have optimized test case with multiple test conditions covering the scenario.<Time saving>

Hi,

Am still not clear for my last query

for a single test case various valid , invalid conditions should be checked? so is it necessary to repeat the test case for various inputs?

Lets us take Registration as an example:

1.Name

2. Age

3.Email

4.password

5.Country(combo box)

                Submit        Cancel

1.is it necessary to write test case with all valid and invalid test data for individual field.

     or

is it enough to validate Submit and cancel button.

My first sentence Would be :  You are Completely Confuse . You don't know What is your question.

Anyway: Either you can go for field level validation ( test case for each field )

Or you can go for form level validation ( test case for complete form at once ).

But You are still confuse ...
