I do it this way,

 

1) Track the Internal and External interfaces within the application

2) Verify the services connecting interfaces with the application

3) Catch the XML file for testing services

4) Validate the Process and Data flow from services to application or vice versa(depends on the business process)

5) Check if the testing complies to the requirement specifications or not

6) Perform as many testings as possible depending upon the accepted quality factors.

Reason for this posting this query was to understand why people respond for simple queries, but I got the conclusion that the one who posts is also important. 

 

Seems like people does want to discuss out of box topics!!!! :)
