Hi Suseentharan,

1) SRS is prepared by System Analyst
2)Test Plan is prepared by Test Lead or Test manager. It is derived from SRS and BRS
3)Going through the requirements(i.e Documents), That is called Requirements Testing. Writing the test cases based on the Documents
4) In Test reports we will give the Test methods, Test results, how many test cases passed, failed etc.....
5)We will prepare the test reports like how the test process done and how many test cases failed and passed etc...
6) Test Lead

Please correct me if i am wrong

Gowtham
Hi Gowtham,

Thanks for your interest. But i heard that SRS is prepared by a Business Analyst.
Is Business Analyst and System Analyst are same or different.
Hi Suseentharan,

I think SRS is prepared by the System analyist....

There are 2 types of analyst
1) Functional 2) Technical

Technical analyst changes the BRS in to SRS.. System anaylist comes under echnical analyst
Where as Functional analyst Prepares the BRS

Both are not same

Gowtham
hi,

i am tirru, based on my experience, i give my view, if any wrong plz correct me

1 business analyst
2 Test Lead derive from BRS or SRS
3 Write test case from SRS
4 It's consist of test result with pass, fail, module name
5
6 test lead
You are absolutely correct Gowtham.

BRS BA UAT
SRS SA System testing
HLD & LLD - Designers Integration testing
Coding - Developers Unit testing

The roles and responsibilities depend on the project constraints. This is the absolute process.

Thanks,
Siddiq

Hi there,

I will try my best to answer your queries. You might find different views of different authors, but here is my personal experience on various projects:-

1. Who prepare SRS? - SA

2. Who prepare Test Plan and from where it is derived? - QA Lead & sometime Test Engg could also be involved. It is derived from Requirement documents (SRS, PRD, RMD etc..)

3. Right from SRS what is tester(your) participation. Here Static Testing is performed, Reviewing & understanding the req & sending queries in Review comment form if in case any req is contradictory or unclear

4. What is test Report and the Content of Test Report?Test Execution Report is included in this which states no. of TC Passed, failed, Blocked etc. It can be represented in Graphs.

5. What are the test reports you will prepare? refer to my comments in #4 :-)

6. To whom you will report? Most of the Time to QA Lead. But it may vary from Project to project also. In some project i used to report directly to QA Manager. So no hard and fast rule here.
thanks for your great interest and response.
