You are asking for a story while we are limited to a chapter. To give you the overall idea on how performance testing with JMeter looks like:

  1. Record your test scenario using HTTP(S) Test Script Recorder
  2. Performcorrelation if required
  3. Perform parameterisation if required (i.e. provide dynamic data to your test like different users credentials for example using CSV Data Set Config)
  4. Verify that your test is doing what it is supposed to be doing by running it with 1-2 virtual users and 1-2 loops and inspecting requests and responses details in View Results Tree listener. If there are issues - fix them
  5. Once you're happy with your script behaviour - disable all the listeners and run your test in command-line non-GUI mode
  6. Analyse results using HTML Reporting Dashboard

If you are new to JMeter I would recommend attending JMeter Academy, it is free and currently it is probably the best option of quickly learning JMeter.
