1)For a given condition (X>=0<100) how many test cases you can write?

2)if requirements are given to you then how do you write the test cases for it

Account number =
Ok       cancel

For above given form the valid account number starts from 1 to 1000  so is it necessary to input the 1,2,3
….998,999,1000 test cases to check the conditions of valid account numbers I,e  is it compulsory to write 1000 test cases for the above form ?

3)what is risk note u give after testing?what that risk note contains?

Hi Suresh,

1) For a given condition (X>=0<100) how many test cases you can write?

Ans: You need to write the test conditions for the actual values like 1,2,3,...100

Then you need to write test conditions for boundary values like 0 and 100

Also you need to consider negative values like -100, -10, -1 etc

2)if requirements are given to you then how do you write the test cases for it

Account number =
Ok       cancel

For above given form the valid account number starts from 1 to 1000  so is it necessary to input the 1,2,3
….998,999,1000 test cases to check the conditions of valid account numbers I,e  is it compulsory to write 1000 test cases for the above form ?

Ans: No, you need to consider sample values from the 3 categories (actual value, boundary value, and negative value as mentioned above) to assure all the areas are covered and your build is working fine

3)what is risk note u give after testing?what that risk note contains?

Ans: Risk note is say when you are done with your testing and now you need to sign off but there are some areas which are not tested or which is not stable (Ideally you are not supposed to give sign off in such case but if it is forced then) you cover your risks that this functionality may b a risk to the project, or providing information on the build that if the build is not given to QA on time then it may be a risk to the timelines, etc

4)what is GUI configuration?

Ans: GUI configuration is the configuration of your graphical user interface, configuration of the interface where you are going to perform testing. Say you project reqt is to perform testing on linux based machine then your GUI must be running on linux only and no other OS.

Please let me know if your questions are answered.

Hi,
1) For Condition:
U need to take ECP & BVA testcases. For the Condition X value should be present from 0 to 99 not 100 or -1 so that's why the above condition satisfy.
total 5 testcases we want to write to test the above condition.
2. For Account Number : For checking valid account number Positive testcases are3, and negative testcases are 3 total 6 testcases we need ...
3 & 4 points are i dont know. i want to know the concepts...

hi sankar,

thanx ..so use ful.

1. (X>=0<100) = 6 test cases using BVA, the test inputs will be x=-1, X=0, X=1, X=99, X=100, X=101 only the boundary values i.e lower value, lower value -1 and lower value +1 similarly upper value, upper value -1 and upper value +1

2. Account number = account number starts from 1 to 1000
Ok       cancel

1. Leave the Account number field empty and click on "Ok" - Error message should be displayed

2. Leave the Account number field empty and click on "Cancel" - Redirecting to another page or as per the application flow

3. Enter an account number and click on "Cancel" - Redirecting to another page or as per the application flow

4. Give alphabets in Account number field and click on "OK" - Error message should display

5. Give special characters in Account number field and click on "OK" - Error message should display

6. Give alphanumeric characters in Account number field and click on "Ok" - Error message should display

7. Give an account number, which includes some spaces and click on "Ok" - Error message should display

8. Enter "0" in  Account number field and click on "Ok" - Error message should be displayed

9. Enter "1" in  Account number field and click on "Ok" - Should accept

10. Enter "2" in  Account number field and click on "Ok" - Should accept

11. Enter "999" in  Account number field and click on "Ok" - Should accept

12. Enter "1000" in  Account number field and click on "Ok" - Should accept

13. Enter "1001" in  Account number field and click on "Ok" - Error message should be displayed
