Load Runner Testing Process-Part1

Posted on March 23, 2009 at 11:37am 2 Comments

Hi Folks,

I thought this will be helpful for the beginners who are learning Loadrunner, hence i am posting this blog.

Below is the Complete Loadrunner testing process:

Prepare Click Stream (CS)

manually browse the application using Click stream, if it doesn’t match we revert back to development team. If it matches

 Identify protocol

start recording the script for single user in HTML mode using options

Enhance the script for Multiple Users… Continue

Below is a presentation of the main areas to test when developing and publishing a web site. It is a checklist that presents the most important features to test under each area and how to perform them

Functionality:

1. Links

Links are maybe the main feature on web sites. They constitute the mean of transport between pages and guide the user to certain addresses without the user knowing the actual address itself. Linkage testing is divided into three sub areas. First - check that the link takes you to the page it said it would. Second – That the link isn’t broken i.e. that the page you’re linking to exists. Third – Ensure that you have no orphan pages at your site. An orphan… Continue

Automation Testing versus Manual Testing Basic Guidelines!!

Posted on November 5, 2008 at 5:05pm 1 Comment

As we will get confuse when to automate and when to manually test. The general rule of thumb has always been to use common sense. If you’re only going to run the test one or two times or the test is really expensive to automation, it is most likely a manual test. But then again, what good is saying “use common sense” when you need to come up with deterministic set of guidelines on how and when to automate?

Pros of Automation

• If you have to run a set of tests repeatedly,… Continue

Hi Sandeep,
Sorry but still i have dought. u mentioned as test startegy describe testing types like unit ,integration etc but these r testing levels .one thing tell me that tetsing types and testing techniques both r different right?
testing types means Black box tetsing,White box testing, functonal tetsing and non functional etc....right?
and to achieve this type we ll use some techniques as for black box testing we ll use Boundry value analysis, Equivalance partitioning, state transition, dicision table, use case technique and for white box testing we ll use path coverage, dicision coverage, statement coverage etc right?
means testing types and testing techniques both r different then what we ll use in test strategy?

Hi sandeep

How r u? i am very fine.
what is build?

A build is a version of a program.as a rule, a build is a pre-release version and as such is identified by a build number, rather than by a release number.
Reiterative (repeated) builds are an important part of the development process.
