Sory for late replying, for .Net application QTP is the most using automation tool, but now as selenium is the market and its a open source used by small compnies also so you can go for that, except this, Winrunner, loadrunner rational robot also popular tools. to learn this a basic scripting knowledge is required, if you start with C it will good. however selenium requited java scripting knowledge and QTP req VB scripting.
