Why dont you give a try to selenium. This is open source testin tool and it support almost all popular languages.
For a good start, use selenium IDE which will need to put little effort with HTML. Later on your expantion plan you can also upgrade…

Selenium IDE only supports HTML for recording and playing back. It records the script in HTML. IDE has feature to export the test cases in many language like java, C#, PHP and many more. But selenium IDE will run only HTML script.
