2. Without reading the manual - You may easily miss useful commands like pause(to test session timeout), storeHtmlSource (you can potentially apply selenium regular expression to verify the values of hidden variables insides that html) , typeKeys (to do things like page up etc)

3. Assert vs verify:… Continue

10 Firefox extensions that help keep you safe

Posted on June 3, 2009 at 4:36pm 0 Comments

Being safe while you surf the web is extremely important, yet safe surfing sometimes seems like an oxymoron. For users of the Firefox browser, downloading security extensions can help increase your level of protection from worms, hackers, phishers and the like.

I should note that even with these extensions installed, you won't be perfectly safe. Visit sites only of trusted sources, and don't download unknown files.…

Microsoft confirmed on Tuesday that it is planning for Windows 7 to hit retail shelves and start showing up on new PCs on 22 October.

To reach that milestone, Microsoft plans to wrap up development of the operating system by the middle or end of next month, senior vice president Bill Veghte said in an interview.

"The feedback from the release candidate has been good," Veghte said.

Microsoft made the near-final release candidate version available last month. Shortly after its release, Microsoft finally confirmed that it was aiming Windows 7 for a holiday 2009 release, something that was widely… Continue

Software bug researchers hunt green

Three independent vulnerability researchers have a message for the software industry: Show us the money.

Dino Dai Zovi, Alex Sotirov and Charlie Miller first announced their new meme in March at the CanSecWest hacker conference. During one of Miller's talks, Dai Zovi and Sotirov held up a hastily made cardboard sign. It declared: “NO MORE FREE BUGS.”

The moment may have been impromptu, but the sentiment had been building for years. Some researchers believe they are getting… Continue

The TesLA (Test Lab Automation) Alliance offered its first public demonstration of prestandard multivendor test-automation integration at Interop Las Vegas 2009. TesLA's XML-based run-time integration displayed real-world interoperability scenarios from five TesLA members: Ixia, Shunra, Mu Dynamics, Gale Technologies, and OnPath Technologies.

hi joanna,

my e-mail id is ap@testersdesk.com.

i am thinking of sending some brochures that you can distribute to your friends and colleagues in goa about testersdesk.com.

i am assuming that you will be able to accept this request based on the participation you have in this forum etc. after all a non-funded product startup like ours needs industry enthusiasts like you!

please do send me your number and a preferred time tomorrow when i can call and talk.

till now i have done marketing only in hyderabad (though we get users from all over because we got 3 awards).

looking forward to talk to you,
thanks,
ashwin.
