first ligh one string by both the ends and other string by other end

so that first string will burn completely in half hr i.e 30min and at the same time other string will burn exacly half...that means in 30min one complete string and other half string will burn 

then ligh the string which is burnt half by other side also so it wil take mopre 15min to burn 

means 45 min
