Narendra,

You need to Test W3C only or WCAG2.0 also??

There are plenty of validators available in market and guidlines too. You can create your checklist accordingly and test your application against w3c standards manually or with validators too.

There is a Firefox add-ins also available (Search with w3c validator in firefox site and you will get it)

Hi Shailesh,

We are testing for WCAG AA levels. we have prepared a checklist for testing and i have tried with Total Validator(Evaluation version).
Few of the checklist points covered by TV.

How much TV is feasible to test these points?
Can you please suggest something how we can test those points manually?

Hi,

Automated tools are available a plenty and can find a list of the same on W3C website. However, these tools will only serve as pointers and manual verrification is and interpretation of the guidelines will help you understand the access barrier and solve it keeping the end product and user groups in mind.

Also don't forget to get the website tested by people with disabilities using different Assistive Technologies.

We are focusing on WCAG 2.0 AA level. i have used Total Validaor, but not find it good enough.
Could you please suggest how can we test those points manually in efficient way.

Hi Narendra,

In order to test a website manually, you must interpret the WCAG 2.0 guidelines accurately or else you might land up marking an issue incorrectly. Have you attended any training for WCAG 2.0? If no, please attend one, it is most essential. There is no ready made wholistic checklist/document available to test a website for accessibility.

Understand different success criterias of WCAG 2.0 (AA) accurately and then test you website. Once done with it and implemented the findings, get your website tested by the actual user groups, i.e. users with disabilities using different Assistive Technologies.

Or else you can get your website tested by an Accessibility Testing house who have Accessibility Consultents who will help you implement the WCAG 2.0 requirements and satisfying users needs.
