Hi tripti... you can explain him about the positiveness of test cases and negativeness.

Like : -Login page on gmail ......

Accept min character in password field .

Not accept less than min character in password field

It just an example of that....

can you please let me know if something is wrong in it

Hi tripti...

I am working on one job portal application . here we are providing functionality to the recruiters and professional to keep private their profile and also a part wise privacy on the profile area. so we can give five scenarios of positiveness and negativeness are following -

1. On select keep resume private - positiveness- it should not viewable to the any recruiter company except the name of the professional.
2. On select keep resume private - negativeness - it would viewable to the recruiter company.

Trupti,

When you say Google Portal, what is the Application you are about to test? Google-search/mail/books.....

Google portal can be accessible from 20 different entry points which are inter linked, so what's the entry point here?

Then only can answer your questions, I guess even interviewer wanted to know these QUESTIONS.

Adding on top of abu,

Rather giving the interviewer the test case, if you could take any one of the portal's available in the google and let him explain the way you go abt testing that(Exploratory Testing Approaches) which would sound more good in context oriented point of your view.

Instead of you giving a countable test cases, if you can explain the way to go abt it that would sound great even though interviewer is rejecting you for the countable test cases you could be in a position to let him know something you are capable of.
