Silverlight Support

Hello All,

I am new to Selenium IDE and also to Automation Testing. I am assigned a project which is built on SIlverlight. Could any one tell me whether Selenium IDE supports Silverlight application testing?

Hello,

Support to Silverlight comes in when your test automation tool tries to recognise UI objects and elements (i.e Functional Test Automation) – silverlight web technology is still new and somehow difficult to find tools for automation.

From what I know, Selenium IDE doesn't support Silverlight - you can't record tests on a Silverlight application. The only solutions for Selenium is to use Silverlight-Selenium http://bit.ly/dgqzyG

What exactly are you trying to automate? Do you need a tool only for functional testing or do you need to do stress/load/performance test as well?

There are several commercial softwares that support Silverlight, but it depends if your department has funds for purchasing this kind of tools.
