Let me try to answer your question the order they were asked:

1) If even a single step is in No Run state and other are passed then the overall status will be displayed as Not Complete.

2) Diff statuses: No Run, Passed, Failed, Not Complete, N/A. Rest you can customize

3) Yes you can pass a TC without opening by directly setting the status as Passed from test suite in test lab.

Tanu,

Now you need to create a test suite in test lab. After creating a test suite you need to add ur test case in this suite.

From test lab you can run your test cases from the respective suite. For more information I suggest you to take a look on http://www.guru99.com/quality-center-tutorials.html

Hi Anushri,

1) In QC if one Test Case is "Not completed"  then final status of particular Test case is Not Completed.

2) The different status of Test cases of QC:-

Blocked, Failed, N/A, NoRun, NotCompled , Passed.

3) Yes you can pass a test case without openning the whole test case.

Raghunath,

In QC You can directly change the status of any test without executing that test case... that is what they all are talking about.......

Thanks Samrat

Hey Folks,

Let me give some more inputs here, It is not suggested to make Pass Test Cases directly without opening the whole test cases..

You need to open Test cases and you need to make All steps status as Pass to say that Test case is Pass.... Yes might be you come across the shortcut available on QC to make it Pass,

But remember, once any issue came(from Preprod / Production) and it is related to that test cases, 1st thing which we will verify that all steps in that test cases are have been passed and proper actual result mentioned for each test step...
