Quality is delighting customers

Hi,

I installed OpenSTA and when i try to record a script it is displaying "The selected browser was not found".  I found out it is compatible with only IE6.0 version so i uninstall IE7.0 and re-installed IE6.0. But still i am facting the same problem.

I would greately appreciated if anyone worked in OpenSTA and give solution ASAP.

As per my knowledge u can close that window then immediately it will allow u to recrod the script on lanched application.
Once stopped the record u can edit and use that code.

Even i saw same issue as i have IE 7 in my system and used an option IE6 while recording in OPENSTA. From recroding and executing points of view i didn't faced any issues. I just closing that window and continuing my actions.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Venkatesh,

Thanks for the reply. I did the same but while running the recorded script it is not responding.

Kindly give any other alternative option.

Thanks

You can record with IE7 also with FireFox

But u have to work a little bit more, because u have to configure the proxy manually
Pls send me error details. In General way it will throw an error when u r trying to execute the recorded script. That is related to long line in code which has been generating in the script while recroding. If u edit that script it will allow u to run the script with out errors.
I tried again the same but now after recording the script when i click on "RUN" button to replay it is not responding. I dont know how to rectify this.
Run button not responding means what exactly ?. I hope ur system LAN settings has been changed. So, application is not accessable when u r trying to running recroded script. Once check it.

Hi,

I somehow findout that i think its a compatibility issue. because it is not complied itself. It is giving error msg in complier as "ompiling... TEST_COBRA.HTP

"User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET

Source Line is Too Long .... Yes check the recorded script once then u can find a long statement in the code. Just cut it somewhere by following coding keys (" "; ," " ; ) and save changes. Then click on RUN.

Just try this .....

Means to say ...

Its bcoz the length of source line is too long. Reduce the lenght of string by deleting some text in that. it will workfine.

Regards
Venkatesh
You can put the long line in two line adding & at the end

Example:
This is to looooooooooooooooooooooooooong line

The solution
This is to looooooooooooooo &
oooooooooooong line
I also faced the same problem when I run the OpenSTA Commender in Windows 7. It is resolved once I installed in Windows 2003 Server Machine. So "OS" also matters for this problem! :-)
