For Cross browser testing, You can use IETester for IE and also you can use developer tool(F12)

As i guess IE Tester gives u the Enviornment to test the application on different IE versions.

Mutibrowser is software u can download that .By which u can test site url on mutiple platform lilke mac, windows ,linx.u can use trial version for 30days. But limitation of these is only u can check pre login page .
