Hi,

1) wat is funtional testing

Testing the behaviour of the application against the functional requirements

or

Testing conducted to ensure "Function" quality factor

2) wat is smoke testing

Build verification testing conducted on every release to testing team

3) wat come under test startedgies

Which testing has to be conducted when, why, where and by whom against what.

4) is ther any term in QC called 'withdraw

If you add a Defect status as "Withdraw" in QC you can find it, defect life cycle is customizable hence it depends on the QC Admin.

Withdraw - If a invalid defect is reported by QA, he is good withdraw it before being rejected. Thus saving his face.

5) wat is the defect life cycle in QC

Alive, Address and End

Defect life cycle is customizable hence it depends on the QC Admin.

6) Hw many reports cn b generated by QC

Reports are customizable hence it depends on the QC Admin who writes the scripts to generate Reports.

1) Test Execution

2) Defects management reports are ideally generated

7) WAT R THE ARTIFACTS fr project health(Project Progress)

For any project, base lined requirements, design specifications, mock-ups, planning documents(configuration, risk, schedule, resource), actors involved are artifcats.

Hi ajay ,

1a) Functional testing : it is the process of checking how well our designed application build is meeting customer bussiness requirements and their expectations .

2a) Smoke testing : this technic is used to define whether the recieved initial build is stable or not interms of  basic f functionalities like ease of use ,operationable, maintanable ,testable  etc ...........( almost 8  properties ).hence it is also called  BAT(BUILD ACCEPTENCE TESTING ), TAT( test accepting testing ) and Octangle  Testing .

Test Strategies : this is the  Company level documents which defines the test Approaches to attain testing Objectives .This doc  defines testing methods , procedures and testing approaches should be adopted for the current testing  process .

5A) Defect life Cycle :

New ( initiated by tester )

open( certified by PEEr or TL)

if the raised bug is genuine then it will be accepted for the  corrective action by the developer

if the devoloper thinks it s not  a genuine bug , it will be rejected with a vallied reason

Resolve ( Accepted by dev team )

Retest (  for measuring bug status )

Regression ( for mesuring  Side effects )

Reproduce ( if Still the bug exists )

it is a cyclic process continues till the bug hasbeen fixed .

close ( TL )

Thanks Abu and Gouri

But if there is missed defect n found in production... what u wil do?

A miss is alwaysa miss, can't do much than analysis the miss(we term it as escape analysis) so that such miss doesn't happen.

Hi  ajay ,

I do agree with Abu  , Bcz Miss is a miss ,to my  knowledge  it depends on the severity of the bug found  and its effect on the functionality of the application .

This types of issues can be  discussed in CAMS (CAUSE ANALYSIS MEETINGS )

for missed the bug ,we'll try to found the RCA(Root Cause Analysis).

Thank u all
