According to me there is a difference.

For Example:

A Software after successful installation it supposed to be restarted
to activate. A message box will be prompted saying "Need To Restart
System" with button "Ok" or "System Reboot Required" with buttons "Ok/
Cancel/Remind Me Later"

In the above scenario :

IF "Need To Restart System" with button "Ok" is the case it is
Warning.
IF "System Reboot Required" with buttons "Ok/Cancel/Remind Me Later"
it is Alert.
