Quality Testing

Quality is delighting customers

Hi,

The script is taking more time to complete when descriptive programming is used. But without DP, when objects are saved in object repository then script execution taking less time.

So whats is the benefit of DP?

Thanks,

Bikash, In my opinion, dp facilitates you to have robust setup for object identification and it might take bit more time for designing but remarkably less time in execution and it is relatively easy to maintain the code. again , this comment is based on my personal experience ...

Bikash,

Used Ordinal identifier in DP, it should work very quickly than SOR.

For certain cases DP plays major role,,consider this scenario,if you have recorded the script and store the objects in OR,in future the object might change the properties ,then again you have to record the script ,it's rather time consuming ,so for that particular object ,we can make use of DP,and we can complete the whole script and thus it saves the script execution time...

Adding to this discussion... also DP saves a lot of memory... if u record the script it will keep on saving methods and properties of objects in OR which consumes a lot of memory...
