Permalink Reply by Nagaraju.Velde on October 1, 2012 at 1:12pm It depends on the functionality of the system on which we have to write the test case. It Should be Differ from one scenario to another scenario. To reduce Test cases we use some analysis on test data by using boundary value analysis, cause effect graphing and Equivalence partitioning. The test cases should be differ according to the module requirements and use case actors probables.......

According to the functionality of the application , we will write test cases. In common we all write 30-40 test cases a day and execute maximum 30 test cases.

Permalink Reply by Samrat Jha. on October 3, 2012 at 12:30pm Great ...!! Actually this question has no specific answer ... !
How many test cases can be written and how many can be executed in a single day is totally dependent on the Complexity of the software ...! then it depends on the level of test cases I mean its High Level test case or a Low level test case ...!
Well, for critical scenarios ( Low level test cases ) we may write 3 to 10 test cases a day .. and same applies on the execution as well... and when it comes to writing test cases for simple functionality and less complex application we may write/execute up to 30 test cases ... may be more ...
Note :- How many test cases can be executed is highly dependent on the test cases which gets failed , as once a test case or its steps fails , we need to log the defect against them which will take some extra time and eventually it will impact the total test execution ..!
Hope it will help you ..!
