  Veena ,

                  When it comes to Functional testing ... Its  "What the Software does " not "How software does that thing ".........

  What do you mean by Functionality of every fields ..??   Do the fields function ..????

  In Each module ..???   The system is still under construction .??? if not, where is the Module ..???

 After Functionality you are going to perform Integration ..???  I think that the correct flow will be Integration then Functionality,  after all Functional testing is not possible if its not integrated...........

 lets start with you new reply :-

      You wrote :-  " I gave idea for not doing testing for new projects.. i gv idea to test the CRM application which is already developed"....   what do you mean to say by new projects.?? and CRM application , even the CRM Application is a new Project for that person who is going to test it..   and FYI  approach for any application is same as far as testing is concerned ........

Okay in your earlier reply :-----  I don't think that I need to go inside the box just to test the functionality of the System ...   As long as I understand that What the System should do .. I am ok .. and can go ahead and test .....   My point is It is "What" not "How" of the System .....

See .. CRM is not just a small term which can be discussed in a jiffy ..    Anyway:--

for any CRM Domain testing  we have some Important testes .. they are :-----

1) Integration testing

2) Data Conversion testing 

3) Functional testing

4) Performance  and 5) Security  testing ..  these are some important tests we need to perform.

Since CRM modules heavily talk to other modules of ERP , You need to perform Functional Integration ... Rest there are forms  which need to be validated properly .

Understand the System and go for Functional testing .... then You need to have extra session of Security testing such as Permissions :  Authorization and Authentication is done properly ..   Client should not have the Privilege to Enter in the Area reserved for Admin etc ..........   

Performance is also a key area in CRM systems ...    Data Migration need to be tested with care too.........

Hope It will give you some Inside details ..

  You got me wrong .....!!   even I would say :-  Instead of replying incorrectly You would have waited till someone replied...     I often do the same ..............

Anyway,  I was simply correcting your answer but you took it in a wrong direction .....

I don't think that I pull anybody's leg over here ...  and I need not to......   

Actually , when someone writes something on a platform like QT , the same is going to be read by hundreds of those who are looking for some sort of solutions of their problems but the wrong content is going to have wrong impact on them ...   So its  not mine , Its our duty to correct  it ..............
